Mark Johnston hosts Discussion Board ...
2002.11.03. Mark Johnston and other committed Dolphins have volunteered there time to answer questions
and help further educate the swimming community. A while back Swimming/Natation Canada
once held a Discussion Board where Mark hosted a Forum called "Questions and Answers."
There he could post weekly journals and invite other swimmers and parents to ask him questions
concerning stroke technique, training, etc. from a swimmers point of view. That Forum proved to
be quite popular among the swimming community and lead him to host another Forum for the
Toronto Star. After the Olympics and after both discussion boards came to a close, several
parents and swimmers came up to him and asked him why it was discontinued. Unfortunately
everything comes to an end. However, since that date, Rob Traynor has been working hard in
getting another Forum up for the UBC Dolphins. Now that day has arrived and as promised
Mark is willing to continue his work in providing advice to other swimmers and parents.
Although this time in his discussion board titled "Mark Johnston's Chronicles", he is
determined to do more. Mark would like to let younger swimmers know what he was
doing when he was there age. As you know as one gets older the intensity in which you
can train eases up due to your recovery time being longer. So how did Mark train when
he was 10, 13 or 16? What type of sets did he do? What type of Dryland program worked
for him? Find out all this in more via our new
UBC Dolphins Forum.
