Sep 10, 2010 |
Don’t let her youth surprise you! Fourteen year old
Noemie Thomas from Richmond, BC is already making waves on the
swimming scene in Canada. Training under the guidance of coach Tom
Rushton, ten times a week at the Winskill Dolphins Swim Club has
certainly seen some results for this ninth grader at McMath
Secondary School. She holds a number of provincial records and is
currently the 11-12 and 13-14 Girls Canadian record holder for the
100 butterfly.
In 2010 Noemie was a member of the Canadian Prospects Team
which competed at the Montreal Canada Cup where she was a finalist
in 50, 100, and 200 fly and helped to win a silver medal in the
women’s 4 x 100 Medley Relay. Thomas was also selected to
compete at the North American Challenge Cup but ended up swimming
up to the Jr. Pan Pacs where she was the youngest member of the
team. It was at the Jr. Pan Pacs where she swam her personal best
time of 1:00.20 in the 100 Fly, and claimed that new National
record for 13-14 girls. It was this performance in Maui that
resulted in SNC naming her as the Team Aquatic Supplies, Female
